In the beating heart of Rome's neighborhood, the historic Garbatella venue presents itself in all its beauty through its total green philosophy and a cocktail menu designed to accompany every moment of the day.
History
Once upon a time there was the Nanetta's Bar, famous in the Garbatella district for being one of the "disreputable" bars in Rome. A curious story that owes its name to the small stature of the owner, a place famous for being always open until late at night, a place that exudes history also thanks to the numerous film shoots of the 1950s.
We could define it as a hiden bar, in the historic square of Bonomelli where the old statue of the Polite Odessa, which gives its name to the neighborhood, in front of the famous mural Vote for Garibaldi. What is certain is that the historical and picturesque appearance of the Garbatella of the past has changed a lot since 2012 when Federico Falciani and Omar El Asry fell in love with this iconic space. After a completely eco-sustainable renovation made of recycled 100% materials finally in 2015 Latteria Garbatella takes shape. A place surrounded by greenery where you can find shelter from the chaos of the city, the small vegetable gardens inside perfectly outline the entire philosophy of the place based on the quality and authenticity of the raw materials.
An open-air terrace at any time of the day
Lto an outdoor terrace, today more than in the past, it is the place where international food and drink proposals meet attention to detail and quality of local products. The food offering is varied with a menu designed to satisfy the most demanding palates, for lunch and dinner. We thus move from a small selection of appetizers "to start with" accompanied very well to many other proposals for first and second courses of meat or fish. The philosophy of good food is carried out at 360°, while for those who just want to tease or eat after hours the section Two Bites (4.00pm-6.00pm) allows you to eat at any time of the day with small tapas designed specifically for a quick and light meal.
Latteria International Bar
Latteria International Bar is the natural one evolution of Latteria Garbatella. Where the philosophy of the drink aligns with the gastronomic proposal on the theme of the all day. The drinking ritual is accompanied by the professionalism and knowledge of the bar manager Biagio Maurice Gennaro who will be able to advise you on what to taste according to your needs. The cocktail menu is presented in 3 different sections divided according to the natural course of the day. The first section Morning Glory (10-12) is dedicated to non-alcoholic cocktails, no other way to start the day than with an energizing drink and entirely dedicated to pre-lunch aperitif time. Among the signature proposals we find Smoked Strawberry Old fashioned, a non-alcoholic twist on old fashioned with the fruity flavors of strawberry and Lychee Champagne, a spritz version with an exotic lychee flavor accompanied by alcohol-free champagne yeast. The second section Two Sips (12-18), instead, presents a list of cocktails low alcohol designed to refresh Roman days during the hottest hours. Among the signature proposals we find the Punk Flamingo, where the Jasmine tea reigns supreme which dampens the alcohol content of Caol Ila and the Only lovers left alive, with a cherry tomato base accompanied by an incisive cut of mezcal. Last but not least, the section Pajamas dedicated to classic mixing with a higher alcohol level, among the signature proposals the Bar Manager's Martini version is certainly unforgettable: The boy in the bubble.
