Ron Santiago De Cuba enriches its range by launching a new Rum Anejo 8 years this fall.
Immediately after the relaunch of the 3 variants of Ron Santiago de Cuba, a completely new product arrives on the market in England, Germany, Italy, the Baltic countries and of course Cuba.
“Ron Santiago De Cuba Anejo 8 years” wants to reinvent and further diversify the choice, and at the same time a new pearl in the world of aged Cuban Rum. A delicious liquid creation that celebrates the value of the current eighth generation of Ron Masters from the city of Santiago de Cuba.
It joins Carta Blanca, Extra Anejo 11 year and 12 year, all produced by Corporacion Cuba Ron and distributed thanks to the collaboration between a European subsidiary of Diageo and the Cuba Ron company.
Dayalan Nayager, Director of Diageo Great Britain, Justerini&Brooks and Ron Santiago SA commented: “we are pleased to present the new Santiago de Cuba Anejo 8 year Rum. We see an incredible opportunity in the premium world between our key markets in Europe and Great Britain – both excellent in the rum category. In particular, in Great Britain, the premium rum market is growing by 79%, year after year, thanks to consumers seeking new brands.”
Aged for at least 8 years, its liquid is undoubtedly smooth and delicate with a natural sweetness on the nose. It comes to life on the palate with intense notes, but perfectly balanced thanks to the time spent maturing in white oak barrels, as well as hints of honey, vanilla, cocoa and tropical fruit.
Ron Santiago de Cuba is the rum loved by Cuban consumers, appreciated by connoisseurs of Cuban rum and usually recognized as the highest expression of this important tradition. Santiago de Cuba is located in the heart of a unique microclimate, where the fertile land, Caribbean seas and scorching sun combine to create the perfect environment for a rum that has a naturally sweet and smooth flavor profile. This rare geographic environment has been known as “La Cuna (the cradle) of the Cuban Ron Ligero” for over 150 years.
All Santiago de Cuba rums are distilled from Molasses obtained from rich sugar cane grown only in this specific region and are all aged in white oak barrels, carefully selected to ensure optimal aging. The Maestros Roneros – the masters of Cuban Ron, authentic celebrities in Cuba and beyond – use blends from aged reserves selected from the aging warehouse, the “Don Pancho Ship”, known as the “Cathedral of Cuban Rum”. The barrels - some in use for more than 70 years - rest there, also being "lulled" by the passage of the train (which was introduced in 1837, before Spain, a country of which the Caribbean island was then a colony).
The master of Ron Santiago de Cuba Rum, Tranquilino Palencia Estruch (“Tano”) states: “The new Anejo 8 years is undoubtedly a rum from the Santiago de Cuba region. The aroma invades us from the moment we open the bottle. The combination of flavor and aroma of this new liquid is perfectly balanced and unique. As a Cuban rum expert, I am extremely proud of what we have created. We want this to be the reference for 8-year-old Cuban rum."
Ron Santiago de Cuba is bottled at an ABV of 40%. All aging claims are based on the age of the youngest liquid in the blend.
Santiago de Cuba is distributed in Italy exclusively by Rinaldi 1957 of Bologna.
