FROM THE NEW COCKTAIL LIST TO ALCOHOL-FREE DRINKS, FROM COLLECTABLE CHAMPAGNE AND SPIRITS LABELS TO FLORES WEEK: All the news from Flores Cócteles.

The Milanese temple of classic mixology in via Melloni 9 changes its drink list, introduces new prestigious champagne and spirits labels and launches the Flores Weeks, themed weeks on a monthly basis aimed at disseminating classic drinks and specifically designed food pairings.

THE NEW DRINK LIST

The underlying theme of the new drink list is Cocktail Culture. Here, therefore, is a selection of iconic blends for a journey through history between experimentation and classicism to rediscover and learn about the blending of the past. “At Flores Cócteles you drink tradition with cult drinks revitalized by a touch of modernity and a surprising presentation and with historical recipes prepared in a canonical way”, points out the bar manager Diego Atlantic.

The new paper develops between two best sellers of last season (Aviation and Tommy's Margarita) and seven novelties, for the first time with two alcohol-free proposals. They arrive on paper Transparent Piña Colada, with coconut syrup and yogurt instead of the usual milk, decorated with a bamboo leaf that recalls the Caribbean; a Negroni aged in barrel decorated with an ear of wheat in homage to our traditions and the Long Island in the name of clarification that surprises with a unique visual experience. And again: there are the Pornstar Martini served in an original and spectacular glass in the shape of a woman and a Whiskey Sours in peated version. To complete the menu, the two zero alcohol drinks, all non-alcoholic reinterpretations of the classic Paloma and the Pornstar Martini, healthy, tasty and non-obvious mixes for a public increasingly attentive to health and healthy eating.

COLLECTIBLE CHAMPAGNE AND SPIRITS

The wine and spirits list from October 2023 is enriched with a new selection of champagnes resulting from exceptional harvests and premium spirits for collectors. Very rare and prestigious bottles. The flagship, in terms of spirits, is the rum Caroni 1996 Velier 21 Year Old 100 Imperial Proof, a blend of 1996 vintage Caroni rum, aged for 21 years in Trinidad (Cuba), shipped to France by Velier in February 2017 and bottled in April of the same year. A super exclusive product, available for tasting in very few places in the world (110 euros per glass). From rum to whisky: Nikka Yoichi comes from Japan, a single malt with a complex flavor and an amber color with gold reflections. That's not enough: among other labels, from the Scottish distillery The Macallan (200 years old in 2024) comes Macallan Edition No. 5, a single malt whiskey with character, produced near the River Spey, in the North-East of Scotland.

UNPUBLISHED EVENTS: THE FLORES WEEK

Another new feature concerns the calendar of events. The Flores One Night launched last year will be transformed from October into Flores Week, themed weeks on a monthly basis in the name of popularizing classic drinks and specifically designed food pairings. Elements underlying the programming, international celebrations and historical anniversaries.

First date, from 24 to 29 October, it will be Champagne Flores Week. For seven days the cocktail list will be accompanied by a special menu dedicated to French bubbles (Champagne Day is celebrated on 28 October) with tailor-made food pairings. That's not enough: in addition to an offer of labels by the glass, you can order the Old Cuban cocktail, a contemporary classic based on rum, lemon, sugar, mint and champagne.

THERE CHAMPAGNE FLORES WEEK

What will happen? Simple: for seven days the Flores cocktail list will be accompanied by a special menu dedicated to French bubbles (celebrated on the occasion of Champagne Day which is celebrated on 27 October). On paper, therefore, three refined labels exceptionally served by the glass and the Old Cuban cocktail, a contemporary classic based on rum, lemon, sugar, mint and champagne served until 9pm together with a small plate of tapas. An offer capable of representing not only France and its famous sparkling wine but also the concept of wine in mixed drinking and the world of sparkling drinks. “At Flores Cocteles everything is aimed at hospitality, storytelling, mixology and food celebrated and designed together. Because trying a glass of champagne or a drink in a glass is a pleasure. Doing it with the right liturgy and knowledge is a total experience,” explains Sebastian Bernardez.

THE NEW FLORES CHAMPAGNE CARD

Designed to offer a refined, original and varied proposal in terms of taste and prices, the new section of the Flores menu dedicated to French bubbles has been enriched with numerous references. “All niche, purchased by small-medium sized companies. With some exceptions, of course. For example, we also keep Dom Pérignon, the spiritual father of champagne, a brand that cannot be missed.”, says Giovanni Scialpi, F&B manager of the Dorrego group, the company that owns the cocktail bar in via Melloni 9.

The bottles on the menu come from multiple areas of the Champagne region. From the Reims Mountains come bubbles known for their power, structure and nobility and from those of the Marne Valley sparkling wines with a fruity bouquet and high softness. And how can we not mention the wines of the Côte Des Blancs, an area where almost exclusively white grapes are grown which give life to highly prized sparkling wines?

If white champagnes dominate the menu, with various Blanc de blancs and Blanc de noirs, there is no shortage of Rosé de Saignée. The cost of the bottles? They range from 65 to 350 euros.
