The first edition of Vermouth Salon is about to begin. At the National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento in Piazza Carlo Alberto, in Turin, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 February the first event entirely dedicated to flavored wine born in the Piedmontese capital back in 1786 will be staged, in what is now Piazza Castello. 24 of the best vermouth producers in the world will participate in the event.
If some must be recognized as having a great productive and communicative role in Italy and abroad, others must be mentioned for their role as local ambassadors, for their ability to communicate, with research, dedication and mastery, the essence of a territory, in which all the raw materials necessary to create a are concentrated excellent vermouth. Over the two days, the producers will be protagonists with their own traditional variations of Savoy wine - red, rosé, dry, extra dry and white - and with personal interpretations on the theme, with the use of non-canonical botanicals according to Piedmontese tradition.
At the Museum, orEvery day, four talks will delve into vermouth from an ever-changing theme. Those who will be interviewed will be bartenders, chefs, brand ambassadors, master blenders, master herbalists and illustrators. They have the task of describing still unexplored aspects of this fascinating world, which still has so much to say in Italy and abroad. At the end of each talk, those present will be served a tasting of vermouth from a producer present at the Show.
The first Vermouth Show is ready to begin. With a special preview represented from the Fuori Salone (19-25 February), a schedule of thematic events, spread across the best restaurants and cocktail bars in Turin and its surroundings and in symbolic places of the city, such as the Lavazza Museum and the Carpano Museum.

“I like the history of vermouth. My bread is its production” declares Fulvio Piccinino, a master in terms of product knowledge. A dialogue around the protagonist of the Show, starting from the geographical indication protected in aromatized wines.
Thanks to the presence in the room of the publisher of Fulvio Piccinino's book "The Vermouth of Turin. History and production of the most famous aromatized wine”, after the talk it will be possible to buy the book. There will be a time for signing copies.
