The Tio Pepe Challenge returns, an unmissable opportunity for all bartenders

Tio Pepe Challenge is an international competition in which professional bartenders of different nationalities compete with the aim of demonstrating their knowledge of Sherry wines and their great potential as a key ingredient in the preparation of cocktails. The international final will be held on 10 and 11 May 2022 in Jerez de la Frontera, the global home of Sherry where you can breathe the love and culture of wine, during the traditional Feria de Jerez.

The year 2022 marks the ninth edition of the Tio Pepe Challenge. A flagship competition on the Sherry Wines events calendar, it has already attracted some of the most talented bartenders from around the world, offering them not only the opportunity to learn more about Sherry Wines through discussion with the world's leading experts on the subject, but also to demonstrate their talent through the creation of new and original cocktails. The international final will be held on 10 and 11 May 2022 Jerez de la Frontera, the global home of Sherry where you can breathe the love and culture of wine, during the traditional Feria de Jerez.

PRESENTATION AND TRAINING

Personal growth plays a key role within the competition. Therefore, in this edition, González Byass offers participants the option to take part in online or live sessions. In both cases, participants will learn about and understand how the Tio Pepe Challenge works, as well as increasing their knowledge about Sherry wines and on mixology under the wing of famous experts.

Participating countries will be able to organize live presentations, including Sherry Wine training events as well as mixology masterclasses. The dates of the events will be published on the Tio Pepe Challenge website. Anyone wishing to participate must fill out a form on the site. Applications to participate will be forwarded to the distributors and/or importers of the country of reference, and they will undertake to inform the respective participants on the number of places available and all other details regarding the sessions. However, as regards the presentation of the competition in online mode, González Byass will organize virtual sessions to explain how the ninth edition of the Tio Pepe Challenge will work. Furthermore, there will be masterclasses focused on virtual wine tasting, mixology and much more.

The dates will be announced on the website page dedicated to the Tio Pepe Challenge, as well as on Facebook (@TioPepe) e Instagram (@TioPepeWine). So that participants can perfect their skills, specific links and information relating to Sherry wines are available on the website: their use in cocktails, the pouring technique of Venetian wine and interesting facts relating to the history and process of winemaking.

REGISTRATION

To sign up for the Tio Pepe Challenge, you need to go to www.tiopepe.com/challenge and fill out the application form. To complete registration, applicants must provide proof that they are currently employed as a professional bartender. Registrations will be open from 1 January 2022 to 30 March 2022.
