World Whiskey Day, the great classics told by Daniele Cancellara

Condividi

For the international day dedicated to whiskey we offer you three great mixing classics through the advice of the expert bartender Daniele Cancellara of Rusputin in Florence.

The great classics not to be missed

Daniele Cancellara is the bar manager of Rasputin, a Florentine speakeasy, on this day dedicated to Whiskey he wanted to celebrate the essence of the spirit with us. Our bartender's proposals range over the tastes and possibilities of drinking whisky, from a simple dose of smooth whisky, which he highly recommends, to its use in mixing. Let's go and see the recipes together to celebrate the World Whiskey Day 2021 with advice from Daniela Cancellara.

Highball

A highball is perfect for approaching the world of whisky. Simple and fresh, we can compare it to its better-known cousin the Gin Tonic. It is a very simple drink to make, but which allows you not to lose the flavor of the whiskey and all its authenticity.

HIGHBALL

-Nikka Taketsuru No Age Pure Malt

-Nori Seaweed Soda

“The Highball is a perfect serve, even just with soda, but this doesn't mean that you can't make small variations, such as Bourbon and Ginger Ale or this version of ours”.

Manhattann

A timeless classic, like the Martini cocktail. Equipped with superb versatility, it can be drunk both in the classic cup version and "on the rocks", in a short tumbler with lots of ice. Not only that, the Manhattan allows you to play on proportions, it can be drunk unbalanced on vermouth or whiskey and why not? Even in his version with Scoth, in which he takes the name of Rob Roy.

Below is the signature version:

FOG OF AVALON

-Tipperary Watwrshed Irish Single Malt Whisky

-Carpano Classico Red Vermouth

-Orange Bitter

-Oak smoke infused with Lapsang Sochoung Tea and Violet.

Variant of the great classic Manhattan, with a present Smoking that gives floral and smoked notes, which accompany the base of Single Malt Irish Whiskey”.

And here is a photo of the classic Rob Roy, in our bartender's proposal, a cocktail which has also been present in the IBA list for a long time and which is in all respects a twin of the Manhattan.

Old Fashioned

And finally, to end on a high note, we cannot forget the most fascinating cocktail in the world: theOld Fashioned. A timeless classic, simply composed of whisky, sugar, bitters and ice, just enough to dilute it all and make it pleasant on the palate.

Here is the signature version by Daniele Cancellara:

EVEN ANGEL LIKES WHISKEY

-Kilchoman Machir Bay

-Glendronach 12 Yo The Original

-Heather syrup

- Cardo Bitter

“A variation of Old Fashioned entirely dedicated to Scotland”.

The new “Whiskey for Breakfast” format

The world of whiskey is fascinating but sometimes little known. Thus was born the collaboration with Whiskey for Breakfast, which features the protagonist Daniele Cancellara, in a format entirely dedicated to whisky, created in collaboration with Michele Tamasco And Federico S. Bellanca. The main objective is to tell consumers about the world of whisky, its history and all the peculiarities that this distillate contains in a direct and simple way to reach the heart of any enthusiast. We advise you to follow him on his channel, so that you can discover and become passionate about this world of a thousand nuances again.
