EDOARDO SANDRI

Born in 1984, Edoardo Sandri he began working in 2003 as a barman in nightclubs, before moving behind the counter of an American bar in Florence. The turning point came in 2008, when at the age of 24 he had the opportunity to join the staff at theAtrium Bar of the Four Season Hotel Florence.“I remember that before I even started working at the Atrium Bar, I once went there as a customer and was pleasantly impressed by the beauty of this bar. I thought I would really like to be able to work on it one day. In the end I did it, and even today, after 14 years, looking around I sometimes get emotional."

THE ATRIUM BAR

Among the best bars in the world for Forbes Travel Guide and in the Discovery list of the World's 50 Best, Atrium Bar is the ideal location for a lunch, dinner or an aperitif in one of the most evocative environments of the Four Seasons in Florence.

THE NEW DRINK LIST: MIX-THOLOGY

Atrium Bar presents its new 2022 cocktail book, which tells not only the mixing, but also the atmosphere and sound of the iconic cocktail bar, in an original and new guise.

MIX-THOLOGY” in fact it is a real vinyl that contains original music recorded by the DJ Marco Solforetti and the pianist Maurizio Tomberli, both resident musicians of Atrium Bar. The album features two sides, an A side which features the 6 most iconic cocktails of Atrium Bar over the years, and a B side with 6 brand new cocktails, two of which are non-alcoholic. On both sides, the melodies that best embody the soul of Atrium Bar are engraved, and which will accompany the customers' tasting, immersing them in the suggestive atmosphere of the place: "One Night in Florence" And "Renaissance” by Maurizio Tomberli, and “Atrium in Lounge” and “Jazzin' in The Gherardesca Park” by DJ Marco Solforetti. The vinyl, inspired by the typical colors of the Bar, and which incorporates representative elements of it, such as the leaves on the armchairs, or the pattern on the upholstery, is the result of months of work by the Atrium Bar team, led by the Bar Manager Tommaso Ondeggia and by Head Mixologist EDoardo Sandri.

And so, on the A side you will find iconic drinks like the Vintage Negroni, characterized by aging for 1 month in oak barrels and made with Bombay Sapphire, Mancino Vermouth Amaranto, Bitter Martini Riserva and Arancia Lunae, or the tiramisu, inspired by the classic dessert and prepared with Remy Martin 1738, Espresso, vanilla and cream, and again thePolar bear, “ice cream” based on Vodka Ketel One, Etna Bitter, Amaro Angostura, acidified tarragon, mango and liquid nitrogen, and others. On the B side, various brand new drinks include the Discovery, with Beluga Vodka, Drouin Calvados and Plum Bitter, or the non-alcoholic Florentine Experience, which resembles a Negronima, is prepared with Pomegranate, Sanbitter and Seedlip Grove.

“Every year we work for a long time on the cocktail list for the following year, and in this particular year, we thought it was necessary on the one hand to celebrate our most successful cocktails, and on the other to include some new features - tells Tommaso Ondeggia, Bar Manager – the list is presented in the form of a vinyl, enriched by tracks created by the two musicians who have worked with us at the bar for many years. The final idea is to create a real decorative object, which at the same time allows you to reproduce some of that unique atmosphere of our Atrium Bar, even at home, perhaps while sipping one of our bottled Negronis, takeaway
